Repairing a Kenwood TM-241

I purchased a defective Kenwood TM-241 mobile VHF transceiver a while ago. It transmitted and received as it should, but the display was garbled and rendered the radio practically useless. Some times it did not respond to button presses either. Finally, the backup battery was near its end of life. Repairing the unit was not too hard, and once again it works like a charm. I have created coverage maps for my own QTH and our repeater site, and it seems quite accurate, although simulations can never get 100% exact.

I am one of those people who easily get locked up in other peoples choice of words. Maybe I am a bit conservative in that matter. W8LGZ and I are probably quite alike in that matter.
